More than two weeks subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of celebrated filmmaker Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones persist in remembering the couple.

Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Posting on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, explained he only now felt prepared to post publicly about his profound loss.

"Sufficient time has elapsed that I can finally put my grief into words," posted Elwes, adding that his first meeting with Reiner created an instant bond. "When we commenced passing more hours together I understood this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor uploaded behind-the-scenes footage from the production, commenting that he could not remember "one day without joy".

"The movie is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Principles that Rob valued immensely. That is part of the many reasons he was the ideal person to direct it," Elwes continued.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, stating: "Asserting that they were a incredible duo would be an understatement. My heart still pangs every time I recall you." He concluded with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Colleague and Comrade

In a different tribute, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved being with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the main character.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked wonderfully with everyone, and he grasped the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese noted.

Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Restricted

Recently, a Los Angeles judge decided to block the disclosure of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, after an appeal from the LAPD.

A legal directive placed a security hold on the files to restrict the public release of "any investigative information, evidence and photographs" connected to the ongoing investigation.

The relevant authority had already determined their deaths were the outcome of homicide, with a official listing listing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Aftermath and Reactions

Following the deaths, public personalities offered varying comments.

Ex-President Donald Trump posted on the matter, offering provocative remarks that were met with immediate backlash by many individuals.

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his voice to the critics last week. Talking on his podcast, Rogan labeled the remarks as "shocking" and implied they revealed a concerning deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan ended by remarking that an associate should have acted when the impulse to speak on the passing was made.
